1st Hanslope Scout Group is located in the village of Hanslope, 6 miles north north-west of Milton Keynes, we are a thriving group with each section working closely together to bring high quality Scouting for all members.

Beaver Section to close

Our Beaver section will no longer run after 8th February 2006, this is due to our current Beaver leader leaving 1st Hanslope Scout Group. We thank her for all her hard work.

An Executive Committee meeting on the 1st February decided that Beavers will finish and will not restart until a team of parents who are willing to be Beavers leaders/Assistant Beaver leaders.

Any parent who wish to become a Beaver leader/Assistant leader will have the FULL SUPPORT of the Scout Group and Executive Committee. The commitment is 1½ hours per week plus preparation time, with training provided by the Scout Group and District.

Finally, the Executive Committee has decided that girls will be invited to join Beavers once the section has restarted. This is to comply with new Scouting rules that all Scout Groups will be available to accept boys and girls into the sections as of January 2007. The Scout section has already started to accept girls.

Just to recap, the Beaver section will finish after 8th February and will not restart until new leaders/assistant leaders are found. It is hoped that at least three new leaders/assistant leaders will be able to form a team so that the section can establish and look forward to a positive future.
